Basic Sport Checkup – What's included

About

The basic check-up for athletes and active individuals. It includes all key general health indicators, supplemented by important markers of muscle load and water-electrolyte balance. Suitable for regular prevention and monitoring of the body’s condition during training.

What's included

General Blood Screening:
  • Hematocrit
  • Hemoglobin
  • Erythrocytes
  • Platelets
  • Leukocytes
  • Leukocyte formula
  • ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)
These indicators assess the level of oxygen delivery to tissues, total blood volume, immune status, and the presence of inflammation.
Electrolytes:
  • Sodium
  • Potassium
  • Chloride
Maintaining water-electrolyte balance is crucial during physical activity, especially in hot conditions and with increased sweating. Electrolytes are involved in muscle function, nerve impulse transmission, and blood pressure regulation.
Muscle Stress and Recovery Marker:
  • Creatine Kinase (CK / CPK)
The main marker of muscle damage and overtraining. The test shows how the body tolerates physical load and recovers.
Liver and Metabolism Function Check:
  • Aspartate Aminotransferase (AST)
  • Alanine Aminotransferase (ALT)
  • Total Protein
  • Alkaline Phosphatase
  • Total Bilirubin
  • Uric Acid
  • Blood Glucose
These parameters are important for assessing the impact of intensive training on the liver and overall protein metabolism. Elevated enzyme levels may indicate muscle damage, while uric acid levels may point to purine metabolism disorders, relevant for high-protein diets and strength training.
Kidney Function Check:
  • Creatinine
  • Urea
  • Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR)
  • General Urinalysis
Kidney parameters help to identify stress on the excretory system, especially with high protein intake, supplement use, and dehydration during training. This is particularly important for athletes using sports nutrition and intensive programs.
Lipid Metabolism:
  • High-Density Lipoproteins (HDL)
  • Low-Density Lipoproteins (LDL)
  • Cholesterol
  • Triglycerides
The lipid profile is important for assessing metabolic adaptation, cardiovascular risk, and the body’s response to increased physical loads.
Additional Services:
  • Free result interpretation (+20% discount on a full medical consultation for assessment and development of further treatment or prevention strategy)
  • Free home visit
  • Personal online manager support at all stages of the check-up.
Bruising (hematoma) after a blood test

Blood collection is a routine procedure, but it may sometimes cause bruising at the puncture site.

During venous blood collection both the skin and the vein are punctured. When the needle is removed, blood can leak into the surrounding tissue – especially if the pressure in the vein is high – and a hematoma (bruise) may form.

Contributing factors include the body's physiological and anatomical features: the condition of the veins and vessels, their thickness and elasticity, position and visibility.

How to avoid bruising

  • Press firmly on the puncture site for 5–10 minutes.
  • Keep the plaster on for at least 30 minutes.
  • Avoid straining the arm – don't lift anything heavy for an hour and don't drive for the first 15–20 minutes after the draw. Even minor activity can lead to extensive bruising and swelling around the site.
