Preparation

  • Do not eat for 6–8 hours before the procedure.
  • Avoid smoking prior to the exam.
  • You may drink only still, non-carbonated water.
  • One hour before the exam, refrain from urinating and drink 1–2 glasses of water – this helps improve bladder visualization (if the bladder is being examined).
