Measures total immunoglobulin M, the first antibody produced in infection. Used to assess immune status.
Preparation
Do not eat for 2-3 hours before the test; still (non-carbonated) water is allowed. Avoid physical and emotional stress 30 minutes before the test. Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
