Measures growth hormone (somatotropin). Used to investigate growth disorders, acromegaly and pituitary function.
Preparation
For children under 1 year, do not feed for 30-40 minutes before the test. For children aged 1 to 5 years, do not eat for 2-3 hours before the test. Avoid fatty foods for 24 hours before the test. Do not eat for 12 hours before the test; still water is allowed. Completely avoid medications (as agreed with your doctor) for 24 hours before the test. Avoid physical and emotional stress for 24 hours before the test. Do not smoke for 3 hours before the test.
