Measures progesterone, a hormone of the menstrual cycle and pregnancy. Used to assess ovulation and pregnancy.
Preparation
Do not eat for 2-3 hours before the test; still (non-carbonated) water is allowed. Stop steroid and thyroid hormones 2 days before the test (as agreed with your doctor). Avoid physical and emotional stress for a day before the test. Do not smoke for 3 hours before the test.
