Helicobacter pylori Antigen Detection
About
Detects the antigen, a direct marker of active infection.
Preparation
Avoid alcohol for 72 hours before the test. Perform the test no earlier than 6 weeks after finishing any antibiotics and bismuth preparations. Two weeks before the test, stop (as agreed with your doctor) proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, rabeprazole, lansoprazole, esomeprazole, pantoprazole) and H2 blockers. Perform the test at least one day after gastroscopy (EGD), or before it.
