Measures glycated hemoglobin, reflecting average blood glucose over the past 2-3 months. Used to diagnose and monitor diabetes.
Preparation
Do not eat for 2-3 hours before the test; still (non-carbonated) water is allowed. Avoid physical and emotional stress for 30 minutes before the test. Do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
