Culture for Anaerobic Flora with Antibiotic Susceptibility

Culture to isolate and identify the causative organism. Used to diagnose infection.
Preparation
Drink plenty of fluids (water) 8-12 hours before collecting sputum. Avoid diuretics for 48 hours before urine collection (as agreed with your doctor). Women: provide the urogenital swab or urine before menstruation or 2-3 days after it ends. Men should not urinate for 3 hours before providing a urogenital swab or urine. Do not clean the mouth on the day the sample is taken.
