Measures cholinesterase, an enzyme produced by the liver. Used to assess liver function and possible organophosphate poisoning.
Preparation
Do not eat for 8 hours before the test; still water is allowed. Avoid physical and emotional stress and do not smoke for 30 minutes before the test.
